Isn’t spying kind of fun? I think you’ll have fun with Spyfu.com. This is a spy tool for checking out competitors and finding relevant website that you never would have found if it wasn’t for this cool tool.

An account isn’t required, but it can help you complete more searches and view more data. The free version alone can give you just enough data to be dangerous. I personally have the paid version of this, but

I tend to bounce back and forth between the paid and free versions.

Here’s a best practice for using SpyFu:

Search for companies that can mutually benefit from the funding that their clients will receive. For example, Marketing agencies can benefit from their clients receiving funding because it gives their clients more spending power to fulfill their marketing needs, thus creating more revenue for the marketing agencies.

Another example is fulfillment centers for e-commerce. If you can offer funding to e-commerce clients that use a shipping and fulfillment service, the client will purchase more inventory and this increases the shipping orders at the shipping center which means more money for them.

Another win-win is with business coaches. You can offer funding to clients of business coaches, real estate coaches, franchisors, biz opp sellers to finance their coaching/training/education. The business coach will now get more signups as a result of funding his or her clients.

Here’s where SpyFu comes in:

Go to the search box in Spyfu and type in something like ‘Business Coaching’.

If you scroll down to the section called ‘Most Successful Advertisers and Their Best Ads’ you can see the top 3 websites that are paying for traffic related to ‘Business Coaching’ and how much they spend. (Typically the more the business spends, the more business they have to refer.)

Click on one of the three options, then click the ‘PPC Overview’ tab at the top. Here you’ll see additional companies that are involved in business coaching.

Click on a few of those websites and check them out. Think about how funding could benefit these companies, and search until you find one that is a good fit. When you find a good fit, fill out a contact form to ask if they would like a financing options for their clients so the company can increase sales by providing more benefits to their clients.
